MEET THE STAFF
Charles Madaus
Senior Pastor
Background: My name is Charles Madaus and my birth home is Springfield, IL. At age twelve in 1972 I received Jesus Christ as my personal Savior as the result of a bus outreach ministry. When I graduated from Fellowship Baptist College in Peoria, IL with a Graduate of Theology degree in 1981, I came to Bible Baptist Temple to serve as an assistant pastor. Also, in August of 1981 I married my wife Kim Hurst Madaus, who had grown up at Bible Baptist Temple.
I served as assistant pastor at Bible Baptist Temple for five years before heading to Indiana to serve as an assistant pastor for a year and a half at Good Shepherd Baptist Church in Mooresville, IN. From there in 1987 God called my wife and I to serve in Kenya East Africa as missionaries. We were sent out of Bible Baptist Temple.
After ten years of amazing ministry in Kenya God called us back to Bible Baptist Temple in January of 1998 to serve as the senior pastor. It was shortly after returning to the States that I pursued and obtained a Master’s Degree in Religious Education at the Mountaineer Baptist College. My wife, Kim, and I, and our two daughters, Nicole and Ashley continue to serve here at Bible Baptist Temple as long as the Lord deems it to be so.

Matthew Craig
Youth Pastor and Music Director
Background: Bro. Craig was born and raised in a preacher’s home. His upbringing included an in-depth and lifelong study of music and graduated from Massillon Baptist College in 1997 with a Bachelor of Sacred Music. While a senior in college, he questioned the validity of his salvation experience as a 5-year-old and settled the matter of his salvation, once and for all. He married Danelle in the fall of 1999 and started both ministry and family immediately thereafter. From 2000-2010, God blessed us with 8 children, Timothy, Wesley, Kyah, Jordan, Riley, Chayse, Ty, and Macy Jo.
He ministered part-time and full-time as Music Director for churches in NY, IL, FL, MO, and OH.
The Craig family has traveled in evangelism singing and teaching, training and preaching. The
Lord led Bro. Craig and his family to join the staff at Bible Baptist Temple part-time for about 3
years while continuing on the road in evangelism. In 2020, Bro. Craig felt led to take his family
off the road and accepted a full-time position as Music Director and Youth Pastor at Bible
Baptist Temple.

Brandon Hostler
Outreach Director
Background: Bro. Brandon was marvelously saved at 13 in a Revival meeting. During his freshman year of college, God began to work in his life and prepare him for ministry. During this time, he met Katrina, whom he married in 2010. While being a Youth Pastor for 15 years, he helped start the BLAST after-school program. In 2023, he transitioned to the Outreach Director of Bible Baptist Temple where he leads the evangelistic efforts, bus ministry, and BLAST after-school ministry.

Chris Blount
Maintenance Director
Background: Bro. Chris was saved at the age of 5 in 1988 and had the joy of coming to Christ at the same time as his father. He graduated from Fairhaven Christian School in 2002 and shortly thereafter left for MarineCorps basic training. Later that year he married Amy whom he met at a camp meeting as a younger teen and they would go on to have 2 children. During his 10 years of service in the Marine Corps, both in the reserves and on active duty, he would continue to serve in his local church. While serving he would help with the bus and junior church ministries and also volunteered as the gym teacher for a Christian school. While serving as staff at Bible Baptist Temple he would complete an advanced degree from Faith Bible Institute, serve as the RU director for over 5 years, and is currently teaching the married couples Sunday School class as he fills the role of facilities maintenance coordinator.
